What are you guys listening to lately? I can’t stop listening to the Bleachers-Strange Desire album, as well as Hoodie Allen’s “People Keep Talking” , the Andrew McMahon in The Wilderness album, and Betty Who’s “Take Me When You Go.” Love all the 80’s influence in music lately. I LOVE the new Taylor Swift single, “Out of The Woods”, that Jack from Bleachers co-wrote and produced. My roommate is sick and tired of hearing me walking around our place in Mexico this week singing “AreWeOutOfTheWoodsYetAreWeOutOfTheWoodsYetAreWeOutOfTheWoods?”. Haha.
What have you been listening to?
P.S. The Summer Set is working on a new album finally and I’m more excited about it than ever.

I just got into a band called twenty one pilots and I’ve pretty much been listening to them non-stop for a month. I’ve also kinda gotten into Elvis which was completely unintentional and you can blame it all on a book called Twist and Shout. Other than that? Not much really, a bit of Pierce the Veil, The Summer Set, the ususal. I think, more than anything, I’m just waiting for all the new albums that are coming out.
- October 16, 2014 at 4:33 pm #254

- October 16, 2014 at 5:15 pm #303
I’ve been listening to a lot of Smallpools and Magic Man as of late. Smallpools song “Daydreaming” is so catchy & just makes me want to dance. Wish I was able to catch them on their upcoming tour. I went to similar artist on Spotify and have found so many amazing bands. The indie scene seems to be drawing my attention again, but I’m totally okay with that!

I can’t stop listening to Troye Sivan’s EP TRXYE!!! It’s literally impossible to not listen to it all day. If you give it a look, I recommend looking at the lyrics too! The songs themselves are sooooo good! Literally gave me shivers from being so good. My favorites are Gasoline and Fun. The songs sound lighthearted but in reality, they are sooo deep. Fun has the best lyrics and Gasoline made me almost cry.
- October 16, 2014 at 5:44 pm #326

I’ve been also listening to Everything’s Fine a lot, my phone deleted almost all my songs, but EF is still there somehow haha it’s funny how this album brings me back to a certain moment of my life.
I’m also accepting suggestions of new music
- October 16, 2014 at 6:05 pm #354
Ed Sheeran, Echosmith and The 1975. I’m blown away by these artists. Their music is just awesome and it’s a different sound than what you usually hear on the radio.
I’m personally loving “Heart Out” and “Girls” by The 1975, as well as “Bright” by Echosmith and “Thinking Out Loud” and ‘Afire Love” by Ed Sheeran.

I cannot wait to hear your new album! I am so happy for you guys. The Summer Set will always be my favorite band. Everything you do is legendary.
As of late, I have really diversified my music taste! Right now, I am completely infatuated with One Direction. Their most recent album Midnight Memories is pure gold… It really got me hooked (that, and Harry Styles’ face… and double nipples. swoon.) I love all of their music, and I can’t wait for FOUR in November! I also am really into 5 Seconds of Summer. (I would like to say “Good Girls” is my anthem, but it really isn’t. I’m actually just a good girl who’s a good girl. haha.)
Frank Sinatra is another one of my current obsessions. I have recently discovered my love for old swing music, and Frank Sinatra is perfect. “Come Fly With Me” is probably my favorite song of all time, but all of his music makes me so happy. He’s such a classic. Speaking of classics, Audrey Hepburn’s “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s is another favorite.
I’m really into The 1975 and Bleachers as well. I think their styles are very compatible, so I love listening to them on the same playlist. Also, the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack is amazing, and I love it. And I love Panic at the Disco… “Miss Jackson” and “The Ballad of Mona Lisa” are my jams. So are Ingrid’s “Girls Chase Boys” and “You Got Me” from Lights Out.
I’m so happy to share with you what I’m listening to, and I’m incredibly excited about all the new music I’m discovering!
Thanks for being brave. Thanks for being legendary.
xxo Erin Catherine

I’ve also been listening to Ed Sheeran’s new song ‘Thinking Out Loud’. The music video is just breath taking and the song is beautiful. Last but not least I can’t wait for Fifth Harmony’s album coming out in December! I saw them in concert this past summer and their new music is amazing! SO much music!!
- October 16, 2014 at 7:47 pm #476
I’ve really been into Taylor Swift’s new stuff. She’s been one of my favorite artists for god knows how long, next to you guys of course. Already pre-ordered the album and everything. I think it’s really sick that recently she’s been going more into the pop side of the music industry and reaching wider audiences. Being a fan of hers since i could learn to appreciate music for what it is, i’m so proud of what she’s become and what she’s doing. Other than TSS and T-swizzle, Ed sheeran is amazing and Say Anything is fucking awesome. I’ve been dying to see both live. Already got TSS and taylor checked off my list.

I decided to check out Twenty One Pilots the other week, I did not think I would like them much based on performances I’ve seen, but decided to give it another shot, and I’m addicted to Vessel! It’s amazing how listening to things with an open mind and interest can affect your opinion. They are like nothing I usually listen to, so I’m really excited about it. Also haven’t been able to stop playing Artic Monkey’s AM album.
- October 16, 2014 at 8:20 pm #507

- October 16, 2014 at 8:48 pm #137
I’m pretty convinced that Andrew McMahon can do no wrong when it comes to music. Pvris are really cool and Neon Jungle are babes. Steal My Girl by 1D is growing on me too.
- October 16, 2014 at 8:48 pm #138

Excited for new T Swift, because even though I’ll miss her country influences I am definitely digging the new sound. Nick Santino’s debut album is still a go-to for me, and the new Yellowcard album is also pretty sick.
Do I have to even mention the new Fall Out Boy single? Heart eyes.
- October 16, 2014 at 9:10 pm #150

- October 16, 2014 at 9:54 pm #551
I’m really into State Champ’s acoustic album right now. I find that with how busy I am between school and work, it’s not too loud but just as deep as I need it to be. I’m also super into Against The Current’s EP only because it has good break up and move on tunes. Really in need of that. Even if it has been for months now.
- October 16, 2014 at 9:56 pm #193

I feel like I am always super behind on music. But being a WATIC fan for quite a while, I just got into their newest album – Weird Kids. State Champs, Saves The Day, Sia. I’ve been listening to a lot of pop lately too.
- October 17, 2014 at 10:30 am #613
Sam you suck, listen to Issues.
- October 17, 2014 at 10:43 am #616
Well obviously I think everything revolves around bands for me. I’m really into the acoustic album ‘The Acoustic Things’ by State Champs right now which just came out recently and it’s amazing. I’ve just discovered Front Porch Step as well. Other than that, As It Is, the new member of the Fearless Records family has been one of my favourites and they’re working on an album, and their previous stuff is worth checking out.
- October 17, 2014 at 11:45 am #634
I’ve been listening to the new Set It Off album by recommendation of friends. I’ve also had a lot of Marianas Trench, Parachute, and Plug In Stereo on my playlists. And as like many people, T-Swift’s new music has been the ultra jam currently.
- October 17, 2014 at 11:46 am #636
I’m listening to so much Paradise Fears at the moment – their Battle Scars EP is so inspiring. London Grammar’s album “If You Wait” is pretty good too: it’s so relaxing, especially “Hey Now” and “Strong”. I have to get my little bit of musical theatre in there as well – the “Matilda” soundtrack is so good and so well written; Tim Minchin is a lyrical genius aha
- October 17, 2014 at 12:12 pm #645
I am currently listening to The Maine’s Forever Halloween album, because it is October and they just started their Farewell Forever Halloween Tour. Also, Echosmith’s Talking Dreams album has been on replay for the last couple of days. as well. I find the songs very soothing, especially when I’m stressed out.
- October 17, 2014 at 12:34 pm #647
Hi! Right now im listening ‘The head and the heart’ and i’m oficially in love, the music is really good!
- October 17, 2014 at 12:41 pm #649
Hoodie’s new album is sooo good! I love that he made it tell a story and that it’s an album that you have to listen to in order to get the story. Another album I’ve been listening to is Hozier’s self titled, he’s such a breath of fresh air!
- October 17, 2014 at 1:02 pm #657

- October 17, 2014 at 5:26 pm #687
I’ve recently gotten back on a Green Day kick because I was introduced to the musical based on their album, American Idiot. The musical is incredibly moving and beautiful, and if you’re a Green Day fan, you’ll love it! You might be a bit thrown off by the music at first if you don’t normally listen to musicals, but the vocal arrangements and everything are stunning.
There’s a documentary about the musical on Netflix called Broadway Idiot — check it out!
- October 17, 2014 at 7:47 pm #710
Brian mentioned Hoodie and I’m gonna mention him too because he’s worked so damn hard and People Keep Talking is just bomb af. I’m Hoodie af though if I’m being honest.
Other than that I’ve been so into Halsey lately. She opened for The Kooks recently and there is just something about her music that gets me going. Hurricane is her best song in my opinion. And Ghost is her most popular one so you should check out one of those. Her EP comes out this month too in case you like what you hear.
p.s. stoked to see a new tss album is in the works, keep on keepin on everyone
- October 17, 2014 at 8:56 pm #717

There’s this awesome british band called Fort Hope and theyre basically just My Passion but without the lead singer from the original line up. Instead one of the other guys has stepped forward as the lead and his voice is FLAWLESS. they just have a completely different sound now and they slay and to be honest im not sure why their current singer was never the lead to begin with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74ZR65Bv6m4
- October 18, 2014 at 5:06 pm #768
Lately, ive been listening to The Rocket Summer. I only recently came across him and i love the sound and the lyrics. I feel like it was such a good timing in when i came across the Rocket Summer because i’ve been feeling overwhelmed with school and just listening to their songs make me feel better. I absolutely love when music has the power to do that –to make you feel something, to feel better. It’s so awesome
